Not That It Matters

Mixed media on canvas with a custom frame.

This frame was covered in a fiber paste after being attached to the original canvas and painted dark grey. Fiber paste is fun because it has a feel like handmade paper so like a lot of my paintings, it’s fun to touch.

If you were wondering about the custom framing on some of these paintings lately… Well, I bought a pack or two of pre-stretched canvases but they’re the 0.75″ depth ones instead of the 1.5″ depth which feels inadequate to me when it’s hanging on the wall. I like the deeper canvases and the wood in the frame adds a proper weight to the canvas overall.

Anyway, it’s been a learning experience for sure.

(That clipping “not that it matters” was reused from a digital collage I did before. It’s permanently affixed now so I guess that’s it for that little clipping…)
