I did some digital collaging last year and really enjoyed the process. I could create something visually appealing, maybe a little quirky, and (honestly) not have to draw every single bit of it. At first, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to keep doing it but then I tried out some new paint, Turner Acrylic Gouache paints to be specific, and I fell in love with painting all over again. It was like when I used to mess about with oil paints a decade ago but couldn’t handle the dry time. I’m just not patient enough.
These paints, though? All the vibrancy and none of the waiting. Also, this is a great way to repurpose some prints of mine that got damaged or didn’t sell! Now they can live on in a newer, better life.

This piece is acrylic, a variety of papers, and copper wire on 8x10x1.5 wood panel.
