I’m sure every city has this – a lawyer specializing in quick, cheap divorces. I don’t recall the ads being as sexy as this one but I’ve seen similar promises.

You know exactly what I’m talking about – the ads for divorce that speak directly to the hetero male promising that if you just take the plunge, get that divorce, you’re going to be elevating your sex life in no time! I couldn’t help but lean into it a bit when I came across this 1-800-DIVORCE clipping in our art stash.

Personally, I’m not opposed to divorce. I’ve seen too many people go into marriage and just give up because they were done. You know what I mean? Marriage felt permanent because of their faith or beliefs or family pressures – whatever the reason, they neglected their marriage because they thought it couldn’t go anywhere. For better or for worse, and all that jazz.

Divorce probably shouldn’t be your first option but it should be an option. No one should be in a marriage feeling stuck. Just having it as an option might cause people to work harder at their marriage to begin with. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
